Hi, My name is Sandi Cross. I hold a BS and MSW, both from the University of Illinois. I also have a Type 73 Certification in School Social Work. I have spent my entire adult life working with children and families. I am passionate about helping people identify and fulfill their goals, while confronting the struggles along the way. Many of the struggles include anxiety, depression, behavior concerns, anger-management, and low self-esteem.
When working with me I like to focus on having a safe place for you to express and explore feelings and examine patterns of behavior. I am committed to teaching and helping you practice the tools you need to cope with various stressors in your life.
Relationships are very important to me as well. I am easygoing, supportive and have a good sense of humor.
I utilize a multi-modality approach with my clients. I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma- Informed Therapy and Psycho-Education. I'm sure my extensive work experience in the school system influenced my approach. I like to have clients understand cycles, stages, relationship dynamics, etc. Together we focus on having the tools you need to have a more rewarding life.
It takes a lot of courage and strength to ask for help and want to work on being a healthier, happier you. I hope to help you find your way.
